AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
WINDOW TINT
- When cleaning your windows, we suggest using a soft microfiber cloth or squeegee with an alcohol-based window cleaner.
- Do not roll windows down for 2-3 days in hot weather or 3-5 days in cold weather.
- Do not clean or touch the inside of the windows for the first week after new tint has been applied.
- Do not use tape, scissors, suction cups, etc. on the film, as this will damage it when it’s removed.
- Do not push, poke, or press on air bubbles. They will evaporate on their own in a week or two.
- Do not use cleaners that contain ammonia or vinegar (no Windex).
- Do not use newspaper or other abrasive materials to clean your tinted windows.
CERAMIC COATING
- Do not wash with soap or chemicals during the first 7 days.
- Do not use abrasive materials to wash and clean. Use a soft microfiber cloth instead.
- Hand-wash your vehicle regularly with CARPRO Reset or IRONX.
- Avoid using automatic car washes as the acidic soaps will wear away the coating.
- Remove bird dropping and other debris ASAP to avoid damage to the coating.
- Apply ReLoad twice a year for maintenance and a shine boost!
- We recommend using 2 drops of soap (Dawn original dish soap or Johnson & Johnson) with 4-5 capfuls or 70% isopropyl alcohol and 16 OZ of water to clean your vehicle.
VINYL AND WRAP
- Do NOT wash for 72 hours after application.
- Do NOT use abrasive detergents or soaps to wash.
- Wash whenever your vehicle appears dirty using a soft microfiber cloth.
- Automated car washes are fine, but touchless washes are best.
- When pressure washing:
- Make sure water pressure is below 2000 psi
- Water temperate below 180 degrees
- Use a nozzle with a 40-degree wide angle spray
- Stay at least 1 foot away and perpendicular to the graphic.
PAINT PROTECTION
- Wait 72 hours to a week in cold weather after installation before washing (rain is ok).
- Hand washing is recommended for the first 30 days, using a soft microfiber cloth.
- Do NOT apply direct or prolonged pressure to any area when using a high-pressure wand. Use a sweeping motion at least 2 feet away.
- We recommend using ReLoad twice a year or waxing your car at least 4 times a year depending on how often you wash your vehicle.
COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL WINDOW TINTING
- The best thing to do is to not pay attention to the film for (5) days.
- Film normally takes about 4 – 7 days to appear clear. Depending on the specific product used, how much pressure was put on the squeegee during application, and how much direct solar energy it receives, the complete cure time is 30 – 45 days. (V-Kool can take up to 7 months.)
- During the curing process the excess moisture left under the film pools into little pockets first; then evaporates. These pockets should not exceed the size of a dime. Please call us ASAP should you notice anything larger than a quarter.
- Sometimes the film appears hazy or blotchy during cure time. You will know the film has cured when the film looks crystal clear again.
- Sometimes squeegee marks are left on the film from soap in the application solution. We generally do not clean the film after installation and neither should the customer. Wet film can shift when wiped down firmly. Wait at least one week to clean the window film.
- We recommend using 2 drops of Dawn dish detergent and 16 OZ of water to clean the windows
- The warranty for the window film covers everything except for scratches. Please be careful with objects made of metal or that have sharp corners.
- When painting or varnishing, use only 3M Scotch Safe Release tape. (White in color and can be found at your local hardware store.)
NEVER USE ANY PRODUCT THAT CONTAINS AMMONIA OR VINEGAR TO CLEAN YOUR FILM. OVER TIME THESE CHEMICALS WILL BREAK DOWN THE ADHESIVE ON THE FILM. DO NOT USE WINDEX, AS IT IS THE MOST COMMON CULPRIT. PRODUCTS THAT ARE SAFE TO USE INCLUDE HI-SHEEN (WHICH WE CARRY AT OUR THREE LOCATIONS), SPRAYWAY, GLASS PLUS, SPARKLE, OR JUST A DAMP CLOTH.
